Who We Are

LEADS Chapters
Livelihood and Life Skill Support

Poverty and unemployment of the parents are two of the major issues that result in withdrawal of the children from their schools. Many families suffer from poverty as they do not have adequate earning members in their family, while the female members often remain unemployed and financially dependents on the male members of the family.

To change this situation, LEADS is providing livelihood and life-skill support to the parents of the children, especially the female guardians, empowering them through sustainable income generation. Even the children are taught to make bags/packets from used papers, which are sold and the money given back to them to save in their clay banks. This not only helps them learn a new skill and generate income, but also helps them understand how paper can be recycled and reused.
